Myrna L. Sastré Gutiérrez
BioMyrna received a Doctoral degree in Economic Science by the Universidad Autónoma de Baja California (UABC), and she also earned a Master's degree by El Colegio de la Frontera Norte (COLEF) in Tijuana México, supported by a scholarship from the Consejo Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnología (CONACYT). She is currently affiliated to the GeoDa Center for Geospatial Analysis and Computation at the Arizona State University (ASU) http://geodacenter.asu.edu/, as a postdoctoral research scholar, conducting a research entitled: "Spatial Disparities and Socioeconomic Mobility in Mexico using Geocomputational Analysis and Spatial Econometrics". Her current research focuses on analyzing Mexico’s income distribution from a space-time perspective, exploring and modeling spatial socio-economic mobility and interaction. A particular area of research is directed to analyze regional economic dynamics across Mexico-U.S., and border area issues. Research InterestsRegional Development/Growth and Inequality Analysis; Distributional Dynamics, Spatial Poverty Traps, Spatial-Socioeconomic Interaction, Human Geography and New Economic Geography; Spatial Econometrics and Quantitative Methods for Regional Analysis.
